Akeley, MN

In 1902, Akeley was home to the world’s largest sawmill and the bustling Red River Lumber Company. Nowadays, the town is still filled with colorful characters and personalities as legendary as Paul Bunyan himself. Get out on the water on any of the Crow Wing tributaries or have an off road adventure in the Paul Bunyan State Forest. If you’re riding the trails or cruising on the Lake Country Scenic Byway, Akeley should be a point of outdoor interest.
